On Saturday January 28th from 4-6 there will be a bean and casserole supper at the Bowdoinham Fire House to benefit the ladies auxillary. Please come and join us.

Wildes Road Training Burn

The Bowdoinham Fire Department, along with Bowdoin Fire and Richmond Fire held a training burn on Sunday February 22nd off of the Wildes Rd in Bowdoinham. The new Bowdoinham Engine 1 was utilized as the primary attack engine and appears to be operating well. Celebrate Bowdoinham

This year Celebrate Bowdoinham falls on September 10, 2011. The Bowdoinham Fireman's Association will again be holding a Baked Bean and Casserole Dinner from 4pm till 6pm at the Bowdoinham Fire Station. Please come and help support the Association again this year. There is also a surprise in store for the parade, be watching for more info.

With all the snow and the coming cold weather, here are a few tips. Remember to ensure that your wood burning chimney is clean, that your carbon monoxide detector & smoke detector are in good working order. Also remember to keep the pathways to at least two exits shoveled out.

It is with deep regret that we advise you that Harold Frey, 46, of the Sandown, NH Fire Department died during ice rescue training. Investigators said he appeared to have suffered a heart attack. Frey had been a longtime firefighter but has only been with the Sandown Fire Department for a few months. As always our sincere condolences.

It is with deep regret that we advise you that a Volunteer Firefighter died in the Line of Duty after a single car accident in Shapleigh (Maine) last night. 58 year old Firefighter David Remington of Acton was responding to a rescue call last night around 2200 Hours when he lost control of his truck. He was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the accident is still under investigation. FF Remington lived in Acton and was a Firefighter for the town of Shapleigh.
